FIRE-RESISTANT & MINERAL INSULATED · BTTZ / BTLY / BBTRZ · IEC 60331
Mineral Insulated & Fire-Resistant Cable — power that survives the fire.
Mineral-insulated and flexible fire-resistant cable for life-safety circuits: fire pumps, smoke extraction, emergency lighting and fire-alarm power. Circuit integrity verified against IEC 60331 and BS 6387.

§01 — Three constructions
Rigid, flexible, and LSZH — three ways to keep the circuit alive.
| النوع | التركيب | Character | الاستخدام النمطي |
|---|---|---|---|
| BTTZ | Copper conductors, compressed MgO insulation, seamless copper sheath | Rigid MI cable; fully inorganic — nothing to burn | Fire pumps, smoke extraction fans, highest-integrity circuits |
| BTLY (NG-A) | Copper conductors, mineral composite insulation, corrugated copper sheath | Flexible MI; much easier to install than rigid BTTZ | Emergency power risers in high-rise buildings |
| BBTRZ | Mineral-insulated core with LSZH outer covering | Flexible, low-smoke halogen-free fire-resistant | Tunnels, metros, hospitals — fire + smoke requirements together |

Own mineral-insulated patent
Our mineral-insulated cable design is covered by a Chinese utility-model patent held by Shandong Lulian Cable — one of seven patents across fire-resistant, irradiated and mineral-insulated constructions.
Patent certificate shared with the formal offer.
§02 — Fire performance
What “fire-resistant” actually means on the test bench.
| التصنيف | المعيار | What it proves |
|---|---|---|
| Circuit integrity in fire | IEC 60331-21 | Cable keeps working at 750 °C flame for 90 minutes minimum |
| Fire + water + mechanical shock | BS 6387 C / W / Z | 650 °C fire, then water spray, then impact — circuit stays alive |
| Flame retardance | IEC 60332-1 / -3 | No flame propagation along the cable run |
| Smoke & halogen (BBTRZ) | IEC 61034 / IEC 60754 | Low smoke, no corrosive halogen gas in escape routes |
| BTTZ construction | GB/T 13033 · BS EN 60702-1 | Mineral insulated cable dimensional and electrical conformity |
MI cable rating: 950 °C / 180 min survival is the reference class for BTTZ construction; exact rating confirmed per construction with the formal offer.

§03 — FAQ
Common questions on fire-resistant cable.
Fire-resistant vs flame-retardant — what is the difference?
Flame-retardant (ZR) cable resists catching fire and stops flames spreading — but it is not expected to keep working during a fire. Fire-resistant (NH / MI) cable keeps the circuit alive during the fire itself, typically 90–180 minutes at 750–950 °C. Life-safety circuits (fire pumps, smoke extraction, emergency lighting) need fire-resistant; general power circuits in escape routes need flame-retardant + LSZH.
BTTZ vs BTLY — which one should we specify?
BTTZ is the absolute top tier: fully inorganic, seamless copper sheath, the highest fire integrity — but rigid, harder to install and needs special terminations. BTLY (corrugated sheath) gives near-equivalent fire performance with far easier installation and longer factory lengths. Most high-rise emergency risers today specify BTLY/BBTRZ for this reason.
What sizes and voltages are available?
Rated 750 V (BTTZ class). Single core to 400 mm², multi-core 1.5–25 mm² typical; flexible types up to 4×95 mm² and beyond on request. Confirm the fire pump / fan load schedule with the RFQ and we size the cross-section.
Can fire-resistant cable be supplied with third-party witnessed tests?
Yes — SGS / BV / Intertek witnessed fire tests are arranged for project orders, and the routine test report ships with every drum.
