Common questions on building wire.
BV vs BVR — which one for which job?
BV (solid) is cheaper and holds its shape in conduit — the default for long straight runs to sockets and lights. BVR (stranded flexible) bends easily and survives repeated flexing — use it in panels, at terminations and anywhere the wire is moved or re-dressed. Same current rating per mm²; the choice is about installation, not electricity.
What sizes are stocked?
BV/BVR 1.5–400 mm² (1.5 / 2.5 / 4 / 6 / 10 / 16 / 25 / 35 / 50 mm² are the common building sizes); RV 0.5–95 mm²; RVV 2–5 cores × 0.5–6 mm². Coils of 100 m for small sizes, drums for large.
Do you produce flame-retardant and fire-resistant building wire?
Yes — ZR-BV (flame-retardant) and NH-BV (fire-resistant) variants for code-required circuits, plus WDZ low-smoke halogen-free building wire for hospitals, schools and public buildings.
Can we get mixed colours and our own brand printing?
Standard colours (red, yellow, green, blue, black, yellow-green) are stocked; custom colours and OEM sheath printing with your brand and metre marks are available for container orders.
