Fire-Resistant & Mineral Insulated Cable
Cable built so that life-safety circuits keep working during a fire: fire pumps, smoke extraction, emergency lighting, fire-alarm power and escape-route services. Three constructions cover everything from the highest-integrity rigid cable to flexible LSZH designs.
§01 — Range
Mineral insulated and fire-resistant cable types
Rigid Mineral Insulated Cable (BTTZ)
Copper conductors, compressed magnesium-oxide insulation, seamless copper sheath. Fully inorganic — nothing to burn.
Flexible Mineral Insulated Cable (BTLY / NG-A)
Corrugated copper sheath with mineral composite insulation — near-equivalent fire performance, far easier to install.
LSZH Mineral Insulated Cable (BBTRZ)
Mineral-insulated core with LSZH outer covering for tunnels, metros and hospitals where fire and smoke rules both apply.
Fire-Resistant Power Cable (NH-YJV / WDZN-YJY)
Fire-resistant power cable and LSZH fire-resistant power cable for distribution circuits that must survive a fire.
LSZH Power Cable (WDZ-YJY)
Low-smoke halogen-free power cable for occupied buildings without the full fire-resistance requirement.
Fire-Resistant and LSZH Building Wire (NH-BV / WDZ-BYJ)
Fire-resistant and low-smoke building wire for final circuits.
Fire-resistant ≠ flame-retardant
Flame-retardant (ZR) cable resists ignition and stops flame spread, but is not expected to work during the fire. Fire-resistant (NH / MI) cable keeps the circuit alive — typically 90–180 minutes at 750–950 °C. Life-safety circuits need the second one.
